It's nice to see that it's not only our Terry who gets what Eurovision is supposed to be about. Apparently, Austria will not be competing in the 2008 contest because, as the Austrian broadcaster ORF has said: "we've already seen in 2007 that it's not the quality of the song, but the country of origin that determines the decision".

For those of you who voted in my recent Meatloaf poll, the answer was actually "Screwing around".

I don't believe these lines are in the Radio Edit, so you may not have heard them. But, towards the end, Meatloaf duets with Lorraine Crosby and she sings about various things that he could do for love and Meatloaf confirms that he would do them. Then she finishes with "I know the territory I've been around, sooner or later you'll be screwing around." Meatloaf then denies that he'd do such a thing: "I won't do that."

In other news, Mum and Dad are coming over this weekend. I need to sort out my finances (work out how much I can put towards a Mortgage) and tidy the flat before then.

I haven't been to the Dentist yet, though I probably shall this week. The pain's gone away but I've starting taking a self-medicated regime of Folic Acid and Coenzyme Q10 to try to boost the health of my gums.

I wonder if anyone here can help me. I'm looking for a quotation. Someone once made a quote graphically describing the fact that larger objects will have larger terminal velocites. It goes along the line of "Mice bounce, Cats walk away, cows splash".

What. The. World needs now is for everyone to have their own personal soundtrack. You have a little box that you wear and each box has it's own particular leitmotif. When you get in the car in the morning, maybe you get chase music as your neighbour pulls out of his driveway at the same time, maybe there's a dramatic chord just before your car fails to start, maybe there's just car commercial music. You climb a hill and, instead of just the wind whistling around your ears, the music turns majestic, emphasising the majesty of the landscape. And, because each box has it's own unique leitmotif, you get things like.. when you meet a hot girl, you know you're going to be soul mates because your themes intertwine. When you're out playing rugby, the massed band of your soundtracks is a thundering chorus.

So much better than having to decide our own emotions.

This is something that I've noticed that windows will do and hasn't been fixed in Vista. Don't know if linux does it, but I at least know where to start looking to fix it there.
When you're shutting down a laptop and close the lid, why does it suspend? Why not finish the shutdown? I don't want to wake from hibernation in a week's time to be greeted with "Windows is shutting down"

There are three boys waiting on the opposite platform and I think they're going to a joke: an RAF cadet, an Army cadet and a public school boy.

So, as I'm sitting here, moisturising my feet, I wonder whether doing girly acts makes me girly or merely complements my manliness.

I've got my brother and his fianceé coming over to visit tomorrow, so I need to make sure the flat is clean/presentable by then. Does anyone know the number of a good French Polisher? It's just possible they might save my life.
